A Paper Adventure – OrigamenT Demo

Action paper folding

Follow a paper letter with a dream inside through many worlds to find the owner of said dream. The paper cat helps you and guides you through the world. Fold yourself depending on the situation.

Gameplay

OrigamenT is a linear game that is played without the mouse. In some sections you need to have quick reactions and some are slow puzzles. You can transform into four different models like a ball, boat, plane and ninja star. Everything has its own uses and situations. While the story of the demo is really short it gives a nice view on what we will get. I can’t wait to get to play the whole story.

Art

The 3D models and textures look really well made. While playing the demo I didn’t find any bugs and had no problem playing the game on ultra graphics settings even with my 7 year old pc. While the UI looks kinda off its little enough to not break the consistency.

There are many little items that lay around the maps that hint on the story but nothing is being said directly. It makes you really focused on the story and what happens.

The studio behind OrigamenT is a well established company that made art and models for games like War Thunder, DCS and many more. OrigamenT is their first game where they develop it themself. It’s really noticeable while playing that they don’t have much experience with the development side.

While the 3D models are well made and optimized the game mechanics feel rough and unpolished. The most noticeable part is the camera movement in cutscenes or movement of NPCs. I hope that this is just in the demo and we get a more polished game on the release.

Developer

Like said before the developer is an already well established company in the gaming space. But only as an art / 3d model studio. Now they are trying to build their own game. We decided to still write about them even though they have publishers, because it’s their first game. The game is supposed to release in Q1 2026. So it’s not long until we should see the full release after this post. We hope they find success as a game developer studio and expand their operations. I will definitely write about them again once I play the full release version.

Summary

So while this game is almost out of the scope of what we consider an “Indie-gane” we still hope for them to have success so they can expand in the game developer space. The base mechanics work well even when not jet polished and it’s really fun to play. Sadly the demo is short and doesn’t have much story. But it was still interesting and gave me many questions, so much that I want to continue playing and find out who the letter belongs to. I would really recommend everyone to at least try the demo to get a feel for the game.
